Greetings,

My name is Stephen Northcutt and I am pleased to invite you to join us
this November as SANS brings its world class training to Barcelona,
Spain and Amsterdam, Netherlands. The SANS Institute is dedicated to
bringing you the education necessary for defending your systems and
networks against dangerous threats. One of our attendees, Jeff Lawler
of JDA Software explains why attending a SANS conference is such a
unique experience: "SANS is the only place that the entire process is
covered from designing a security policy to implementing, enforcing and
auditing it."

In this spirit, I am personally very excited to be traveling to
Barcelona for SANS Spain taking place November 11-16. We will be
offering our most popular SANS Security Essentials track. This Track
covers everything from policy and concepts to Windows and Unix and
prepares those who take it to excel in the ever-changing world of
information security. Whether you are just starting out or have been
doing a bit of security work already this track will fill in the gaps
and give you the solid foundation to take the next step in your career.
In Barcelona you will be able to enjoy the masterpieces of Gaudi's
architecture, like the Sagrada Familia cathedral, the Parc Guell or La
Pedrera, and excellent museums like Museu Picasso and Museu Nacional
D'Art De Catalunya. You can also go on to beautiful beaches along the
Mediterranean Sea or enjoy Spain's unique nightlife. Barcelona is a city
that has more to do than one could possibly do in a week but it will
certainly be fun to fit in some of the sights at in the evening as a
way to unwind from the intense training that will be taking place during
the day

>From Barcelona, SANS will be traveling to the Netherlands for SANS
Amsterdam taking place November 20-25. This conference will feature
three of our most highly regarded tracks:  SANS Security Essentials;
Firewalls, Perimeter Protection and VPNs; and Intrusion Detection
In-Depth. This combination of tracks covers a wide variety of topics
all extremely important to any site's overall security readiness! While
you are in Amsterdam take advantage of this picturesque cultural and
historic city. There are many things to do and see such as viewing the
famous canals or visiting the beautiful flower markets. You can also
take in great works of art by the likes of Rembrandt and Vermeer at the
world-famous Rijksmuseum or any of the other renowned museums in
Amsterdam. Whatever you decide to do, Amsterdam is a city that you
won't soon forget.

I encourage all of you to join us as SANS comes to Europe. In addition
to learning vast amounts of knowledge at our conferences, you will also
be preparing yourself to attempt certification through the GIAC program.
For more information on this exciting certification, please visit
www.giac.org/ I hope to see you this November, I also ask for you to
please forward this invitation those you know who could benefit from
this training that may not have received the invitation. For more
information on either of these conferences, please visit

Sincerely,
Stephen Northcutt
The SANS Institute
